One of the founder of Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, Muhammad Ali Salaam, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 76, was buried at the Garden Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA

Muhammad Ali Salaam, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 78, was buried at the Garden Cemetery in West Roxbury, Massachusetts, following the funeral prayers at ISBBC after Friday prayer.

Massachusetts Congresswoman Ayana Presley, who wore a headscarf and spoke after the funeral prayers, spoke highly of the late Muhammad Ali Salaam and said that as a practicing Christian, he supported Muslims in Boston and fought for ceasefire in Gaza.

The funeral prayer was attended by Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Boston Murat Uğurluoğlu and a large congregation.

Shaih Yasir Fahmy, a former Imam of ISBCC, delivered the Friday sermon and stated that Muhamamd Ali-Salaam was an exemplary Muslim and one of the most humble people he had ever met.

Muhammad Barrie, who took the floor after the funeral prayer led by the late Ali-Salaam's son, said that he first saw Muhammad Ali-Salaam at ISB Cambridge 15 years ago and that he introduced himself and said that he needed help and that he needed to go to Guinea to build an Islamic School in Guinea. Muhammad Ali-Salaam, a Muslim he met for the first time, said let's go together and he went to Guinea to help build the school.
