ISTANBUL (AA) - Next month in Istanbul, the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association's (MUSIAD) EXPO will bring together hundreds of Turkish firms, officials, foreign buyers, and participants from 124 countries.

Starting on Nov. 2, the four-day expo aims to generate a business volume of around $5 billion, the group’s head Mahmut Asmali told a Thursday news conference.

Buyers from over 50 countries, especially from Azerbaijan, Russia, China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Iran, will take part in the event, he added.

Asmali said more than 300 Turkish firms, or even more than 400 when startups are included, will tout their products at the event.

This year, the 19th MUSIAD EXPO will also feature ambassadors from D-8 countries – Türkiye, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Pakistan – he stressed.

He added that at the expo, memorandums of understanding will be signed between D-8 members to boost Türkiye's international trade with these countries.

He also said MUSIAD's village project in the northern Syrian province of Idlib will be opened at the end of this month including 600 briquette houses designed to house around 4,000 people.
