Napoli climb to top in Serie A after beating AC Milan 2-1

Goals of Politano, Simeone bring vital victory to Napoli in week 7

ANKARA (AA) - Napoli climbed to the top spot in Serie A standings after beating AC Milan 2-1 on Sunday.

After a silent first half, Matteo Politano of Napoli opened the score with his penalty goal in the 55th minute at Giuseppe Meazza.

Milan's veteran striker Olivier Giroud leveled the score in the 69th minute but just nine minutes later, Napoli's Giovanni Simeone responded in kind, and the game ended 2-1.

Napoli lead the Italian Serie A standings with 17 points while AC Milan are placed fifth with 14 points.
