NBA: Bucks beat Lakers in Thursday night showdown

East leaders Bucks, Giannis come up big against West leaders Lakers, LeBron James

ANKARA (AA) - The NBA's Eastern Conference leaders Milwaukee Bucks toppled the West Conference leaders Los Angeles Lakers 111-104 in Thursday's match.

Milwaukee Bucks' Greek superstar, the reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo had 34 points and 11 rebounds and 7 assists, including a career-high 5 made three-pointers at Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee.

George Hill contributed to the Bucks win with 21 points. Khris Middleton scored 15 points for the Bucks as well.

For the Lakers, superstar LeBron James scored 21 points, took 12 rebounds and produced 11 assists.

In addition, the Lakers power forward Anthony Davis tallied 36 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Danny Green, the Lakers' shooting guard, scored 21 points.

The Bucks have 25-4 win/loss record this season. They won 9 out of 10 games.

The Lakers got their 5th loss this season but they have 24 wins to lead the West.


- Rockets' Westbrook rampant against Clippers


The Houston Rockets managed to pull another comeback, this time against Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night at Staples Center.

The Rockets won the match 122-117.

Despite being up by 17 points in the second quarter, Clippers could not prevent Rockets' comeback in the third. The Rockets outscored the Clippers 36-18 in the third quarter.

Russell Westbrook was the top scorer for the Rockets, he scored 40 points, had 10 rebounds and 5 assists. He played with 13/31 from the field and had 8 turnovers, but he was influential as Harden scored less than 30 points.

James Harden had 28 points and 10 assists.

Clippers forwards, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard tried to put up resistance against Rockets.

George scored 34 points and had 9 rebounds. Meanwhile, Leonard produced 25 points and took nine rebounds.

Landry Shamet and Montrezl Harrell combined for 32 points off the bench for the Clippers, but they could not resist the Rockets' comeback.

The Rockets are currently in the fourth spot in the West, with 19-9 win/loss record.

Despite the loss, Clippers come second in the Western Conference. They won 21 games but lost nine.
