NBA: Durant torches Clippers with 50, Warriors advance

Durant also scored 38 in half, tying second-most scoring ever in a playoff game, to help Golden State close out series

ANKARA (AA) - Kevin Durant scored 50 points as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 129-110 in Game 6, advancing to the Western Conference semi-finals.

In the only match on Friday night in NBA Playoffs, the reigning champions got the job done at Staples Center, beating Clippers for a 4-2 series win in the first round.

After scoring 45 points in Game 5, two-time NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant scored 50 points in Game 6, his career playoff best.

Durant also scored 38 points in the first half, tying the second-most points scored ever by an NBA player in a playoff game.

The most points that was scored by an NBA player in a playoff game was 39, scored by Golden State's Eric Floyd against the Los Angeles Lakers in 1987 in a second-round series.

Durant, scoring 38, tied NBA legend Charles Barkley, who also scored 38 against Golden State in 1994 in a first-round series.

Warriors will meet the Houston Rockets in the conference semi-finals.
