NBA: Lakers beat Cavaliers for 9th straight win

Lakers improve to 33 wins to top Western Conference as LeBron James helps his team in blowout win, scoring 31 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 128-99 on Monday night for their ninth straight win in the NBA.

Following this result, the Lakers improved to 33 wins to top the Western Conference.

Lakers star Anthony Davis missed the game due to injury while superstar LeBron James helped his team in the blowout win, scoring 31 points.

Dwight Howard also performed double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

The Cavaliers had their 28th defeat this season though Kevin Love scored 21 points and 11 rebounds, Tristan Thompson gained 17 points and 10 rebounds and Turkish international Cedi Osman netted 15 points.

- Gilgeous-Alexander youngest-ever with 20-rebound triple-double

The Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recorded the first-ever triple-double of his career in 117-104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves as he finished with 20 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists.

The 21-year-old made history as he become the youngest-ever NBA player to put up a 20/20/10 game.
