NBA: Westbrook's historic triple-double lifts Rockets
Houston Rockets beat New Orleans Pelicans 126-123, Westbrook passes Magic for 2nd place in all-time triple-double list

ANKARA (AA) - The Houston Rockets defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 126-123 late Saturday evening, handing them their first win of the 2019-2020 NBA season.
The Rockets' new star Russell Westbrook posted a triple-double with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists, passing Hall of Famer Magic Johnson to grab second place in the all-time triple-double list.
Westbrook has had a total of 139 triple-doubles in his career so far, edging out Johnson (138) in that category, now only trailing another legend, Oscar Robertson (181).
Westbrook had a triple-double average in points, assists, and rebounds in each of the past three regular seasons, the first player to ever accomplish that feat.
Magic Johnson congratulated Westbrook via Twitter, saying: "Congratulations to Russell Westbrook for passing me and having the 2nd-most triple-doubles in NBA history!"
