ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukraine's president on Wednesday approved a bill to create a fund for the reconstruction of critical infrastructure hit in the ongoing war with Russia.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed into law the bill, passed on Oct. 19, to create the fund "for the elimination of the consequences of armed aggression" in the 2022 budget, said Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the first deputy head of the parliament's committee on tax and customs policy, on Telegram.

According to the RBK-Ukraine news agency, the fund would go to the construction of public buildings, reconstruction, and major repairs of critical infrastructure facilities.

Earlier, Zelenskyy said the country's power supply had been mostly restored after fresh Russian strikes on Tuesday.

Declaring the latest round of attacks were "the biggest" in the history of Ukraine's energy sector, the country's national energy company Ukrenergo vowed to work "around the clock" to maintain the flow of electricity to households.

During the attacks, three residential buildings were hit in the capital Kyiv, killing a civilian.

Officials also reported explosions in multiple cities, including Rivne, Lviv, Vinnytsia, and Kovel.
