Niger’s president visits African Culture House in Turkish capital

Mohamed Bazoum says he is glad to see ‘African spirit, color and culture’ in Ankara

ANKARA (AA) – Niger’s president and his wife on Thursday visited the African Culture House and Handicrafts Market in Turkiye's capital Ankara.

Mohamed Bazoum, who is in Turkiye to attend Antalya Diplomacy Forum, and his wife Khadija Bazoum paid a visit to the culture house founded in Ankara under the auspices of Turkiye’s First Lady Emine Erdogan.

The president examined the items manufactured by women from 18 African countries and put on sale. He said that he was glad to see the “African spirit, colors and culture” in Ankara.

Also presenting the house with paintings of historical and traditional handicrafts from Niger’s Agadez region, he hailed the importance of the bridge established between his country and Turkiye by women.

The couple were also briefed about the activities of the house, and they discussed ways of cooperation with Fondation NOOR – established by Niger’s first lady – in projects relating to women and children in line with the sustainable development goals of Niger.
