Number of commercial flights in EU up 156% in March

ISTANBUL (AA) - The number of commercial flights in the EU increased 156% in March on a yearly basis, official figures showed on Thursday.

According to Eurostat data, the figure is still 27% below the pre-pandemic level in March 2019.

"In absolute terms, the number of commercial flights stood at 389,181 in March 2022, compared with 151,986 in March 2021, 296,362 in March 2020 and 530,400 in March 2019," it added.

It added that there is no flight with Ukraine in March and only 52 flights with Russia amid the war between the two countries.
