Obama to meet Chinese, Israeli PM at UN

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama will meet Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later this week, the White House announced Sunday.

The meetings will take place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York City.

Obama's meeting with Li will take place Monday and focus on deepening relations between Washington and Beijing while also addressing regional and bilateral concerns, including North Korea's nuclear and ballistic missile tests, according to the White House.

Obama will meet Netanyahu on Wednesday to discuss U.S.-Israel ties, including the recently finalized 10-year $3.8 billion annual military assistance package for Tel Aviv, the largest in U.S. history.

"The meeting also will be an opportunity to discuss the need for genuine advancement of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the face of deeply troubling trends on the ground," spokesman Josh Earnest said in a statement, noting the leaders will also likely discuss the Iran nuclear deal and regional security issues.
