Over 330 liters of bootleg alcohol seized in southern Turkey

MERSIN, Turkey (AA) - At least 336 liters of bootleg alcohol were seized by gendarmerie forces in southern Turkey, an official statement said on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, local gendarmerie teams raided an address in the Toroslar district of the Mersin province, the provincial gendarmerie command said in a statement.

Some 336 liters of bootleg alcohol and various materials used in the production of alcohol was also seized in the operation, the source added.

A suspect was also arrested and later released by a court pending trial.
