ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AA) - Pakistani authorities rescued two more British climbers trapped on a mountain slope in northwest of the country, a police official said on Tuesday.

Four British climbers, of a five-person team, were reported missing on Sunday when they were trying to scale Koyo in the Upper Chitral area. The pakistani army had rescued two of them -- John James and William Taylor -- on Sunday, however the other two couldn't retrieve due to bad weather condition.

"The [remaining] two British citizens have been rescued by Pakistan army and shifted to base area," Saleem Riaz, a local police official, told Anadolu Agency over the phone.

The British mountaineers -- Thomas Michael and Alastair James -- were evacuated late Monday and shifted to Mastuj area of Chitral on Tuesday, he added.

However, the official did not give further details about the their health condition. According to a local official one of them had received injures, when he fell down from the height.

All four trekkers were stuck near the Koyo Zom peak in the district of Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province while another member of the team, Usiadeam Robertson, stayed at the base camp, according to Riaz.

The British climbers had arrived at the Koyo Zom base camp in Chitral earlier this month.

Koyo Zom, the highest peak in the Hindu Raj range with a summit at over 6,700 metres (22,000 feet) high, is located between the Hindu Kush and Karakoram ranges at the boundary of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan provinces.
