ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AA) - Pakistan summoned India's Charge d' Affairs Gaurav Ahluwalia on Saturday to lodge a protest against what it called a recent "unprovoked ceasefire violation" in Kashmir.

The Foreign Ministry, in a statement, said Indian forces on Friday deliberately targeted innocent civilian participants of peaceful rallies organized to show solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir.

"Four young civilians were sustained serious injuries by Indian forces firing near the Line of Control (LoC)," the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said.

The Indian forces along the LoC and working boundary have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars and automatic weapons, the statement further said and adding since 2017, the Indian forces committed 1970 ceasefire violation.

Foreign Office Director General Mohammad Faisal urged India to respect a 2003 ceasefire arrangements and investigate these and other incidents.
