Pakistani youth delegation visits Anadolu Agency

Anadolu Agency's world languages editor-in-chief briefs delegation about activities of agency

ANKARA (AA) - A Pakistani youth delegation visited Anadolu Agency headquarters in capital Ankara on Friday.

As part of a program organized by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Istanbul, eight members of the National Youth Assembly, a model parliament for young people, was informed about daily activities of Anadolu Agency.

Mehmet Ozturk, world languages editor, said he was pleased to host young professionals representing different regions of Pakistan.

Using Pakistan's capital Islamabad as a base, Ozturk said, the agency gathers news from the sub-continent and publishes it in 13 languages.

"We will strengthen our media operations in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh,” Ozturk added.

While giving information about the agency’s history and works as well as foreign languages service, Ozturk said, the agency closely follows the developments in Muslim nations.

He went on to say that the agency is highly active in Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Sudan, Algeria and Libya.

Ozturk also noted that the agency is the only international news agency which provides news in the local Indonesian language.

Highlighting that Turkey and Pakistan are brotherly countries, he said he is ready for any contribution and cooperation with Pakistan.

After visiting different services of the agency, Hanan Ali Abbasi, who was leading the delegation, briefed Ozturk about their activities.

The delegation has also visited some Turkish institutions including Anadolu Agency, Turkish Grand National Assembly and Turkish Coordination and Cooperation Agency, to discuss further communication and education issues between the two countries.
