Palestinian cars vandalized in ‘price tag' attacks

Attackers marked anti-Arab phrases calling for death of Palestinians on the vehicles

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Palestinian vehicles were vandalized at dawn Tuesday in suspected "price tag" attacks in the occupied West Bank, according to local residents.

“Dozens of Jewish settlers stormed Awarta village in Nablus and attacked Palestinian vehicles,” Hisham Awwad, head of the Awarta local council, told Anadolu Agency.

“Three vehicles had their tires slashed and spray-painted with ‘price tag’ slogans,” he said.

According to Awwad, attackers marked anti-Arab phrases calling for the death and expulsion of Palestinians on the vehicles.

"Price tag" vandalism is a strategy used by extremist Jewish settlers to attack Palestinians and their property in retaliation for perceived threats to Israeli settlement expansion.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces rounded up 13 Palestinians in overnight raids in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian individuals were arrested for “suspected involvement in terrorist activities and violent disturbances”, the Israeli army said in a statement.

According to Palestinian figures, about 6,400 Palestinians are currently languishing in Israeli prisons.
