Palestinian premier meets Estonian FM in Ramallah
Rami Hamdallah briefs Sven Mikser on recent developments in Palestinian territories
By Qais Abu Samra
RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah on Thursday met with Estonian Foreign Minister Sven Mikser -- now on an official visit to Palestine and Israel -- in Ramallah.
In a press statement, Hamdallah’s office said the prime minister had briefed Mikser on “recent developments in the Palestinian territories”.
“Hamdallah also reiterated the Palestinian leadership’s commitment to the peace process based on the principle of a two-state solution," the statement read.
According to the PM’s office, Hamdallah went on to warn Mikser that continued Israeli settlement building in the West Bank -- along with Israel’s refusal to respect UN resolutions -- would “destroy the prospects for a two-state solution and render a future Palestinian state unworkable”.
Mikser arrived in Ramallah on Thursday from Jerusalem, where he met with a number of Israeli officials.
