Israeli forces detained two Palestinians during the clashes

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – A Palestinian was injured and dozens were affected by gas inhalation on Sunday in clashes with Israeli forces in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to medics.
The violence erupted after Israeli forces erected a military checkpoint at the entrance of the town of Tirmasiya in the central West Bank, local residents said.
Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber bullets and teargas to disperse angry Palestinians, who replied by hurling stones and setting tyres ablaze, they said.
Local medics said a Palestinian was injured by a rubber bullet and scores suffered temporary asphyxiation from Israeli teargas.
Residents said Israeli forces detained two Palestinians during the clashes.
According to an Anadolu Agency reporter, Israeli forces erected several checkpoints on roads leading to the town of Al-Mughayyir, which saw a settler attack on Saturday that left one Palestinian dead.
The Israeli military has yet to issue an official statement on the clashes.
