Pandemic kills 19 in Saudi Arabia, 10 in Libya
6 people die from virus in Kuwait, 5 in UAE

ISTANBUL (AA) – The coronavirus pandemic continued to claim more lives in Saudi Arabia, Libya, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday.

The Saudi Health Ministry said 19 deaths and 402 new infections were recorded, taking the country’s tally to 347,282 cases, including 5,402 deaths, and 333,842 recoveries.

In Libya, the country's National Center for Disease Control said 10 people had died and 467 others tested positive for COVID-19, pushing the country’s count to 61,095 confirmed cases, including 857 deaths, and 116,862 recoveries.

In Kuwait, the Health Ministry registered six fatalities and 589 infections over the past 24 hours. The Gulf state’s case tally now rose to 125,926 cases, including 779 deaths, and 116,862 recoveries.

In the UAE, the Health Ministry said five fatalities and 1,121 new cases were detected, taking the country’s figure to 132,629 cases, including 494 deaths.

Since starting in China in late December last year, the coronavirus pandemic has spread worldwide, claiming over 1.19 million lives in 190 countries and regions, and causing over 45.72 million infections, according to the latest figures from the US' Johns Hopkins University.
