PKK attack martyrs soldier in southeastern Turkey
Deadly bomb blast took place in Cudi Mountain region

SIRNAK, Turkey (AA) – A soldier was martyred in a PKK terror attack in the southeastern Turkish province of Sirnak on Thursday, according to security sources.
The source, speaking on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said a soldier was martyred when PKK terrorists exploded a device in the Cudi Mountain region.
An operation was launched by the security forces to catch the terrorists.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July last year and has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,100 security force members and civilians, including women and children.
