MOSCOW (AA) - Poland reopened its embassy in Mongolia's capital Ulan-Bator on Wednesday.
A ceremony took place as part of Polish President Andrzej Duda's state visit to the East Asian country.
Mongolia and Poland established diplomatic relations on April 14, 1950, and in 1960 Warsaw opened its embassy in Ulan-Bator.
But in 1995 the mission was closed due to financial difficulties, only to reopen in 1999 and shut again in 2009.
On Jan. 15, 2021, the Polish government decided to reopen the embassy again.
It also plans to open a consular department at the embassy in 2024.
Currently, Mongolian citizens get visas to travel to Poland at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Mongolia, or the Polish mission in China.
