ANKARA (AA) - The prime ministers of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovenia are visiting Kyiv on Tuesday to reaffirm EU's support to Ukraine as war with Russia continues, the Polish government has announced.

"The purpose of the visit is to confirm the unequivocal support of the entire European Union for the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. The aim of this visit is also to present a broad package of support for Ukraine and Ukrainians," it said in a statement.

Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski along with the premiers of Czech Republic and Slovenia, Petr Fiala and Janez Jansa, respectively, will meet Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal "as representatives of the European Council."

Russia's war on Ukraine, which began on Feb. 24, has drawn international condemnation, led to severe financial sanctions on Moscow, and spurred an exodus of global firms from Russia.

At least 636 civilians have been killed and 1,125 injured in Ukraine since the beginning of the war, and over 2.9 million people have fled to neighboring countries, according to UN estimates.
