Princess El-Hashemite signs book in WBAF 2020 congress

ISTANBUL (AA) - Iraqi Princess Nisreen El-Hashemite, a medical doctor working for women empowerment, signed a book on women in science during the World Congress 2020 of the World Business Angel Investment Forum (WBAF) on Monday.

Princess El-Hashemite, the executive director of the Royal Academy of Science International Trust (RASIT), signed the book named Women and Girls in Science for Socio-Economic Sustainable Development.

According to a WBAF press release, RASIT conducts studies with national and international organizations to keep pace with the explosive growth in science, technology, and globalization in terms of its impact on commerce, education, environment, health, and all aspects of sustainable development programs.

In celebration of the fifth year of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, RASIT launched the book on Feb. 11 at the UN headquarters in New York.

The press release said: "The first book in the 10-volume series is officially published by RASIT in celebration of the Decade of Action adopted by world leaders during the week of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly."

The two-day congress kicked off on Monday, hosting hundreds of participants from 92 countries and 132 international speakers on 24 panels, including angel investors, venture capitalists, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and business leaders.

The event, for which Anadolu Agency is the global communications partner, is expected to be attended by 1,500 delegates.
