HAARLEM, NETHERLANDS (AA) – Hundreds of people in the Netherlands on Thursday protested against China, demanding justice for Uighur and restoration of their human rights.

Demonstrators, who gathered in front of the northwestern Haarlem train station, voiced their anger, at the Chinese government’s systematic campaign against Uighur Muslims.

China is accused of carrying out repressive policies against the Uighur, a Turkic Muslim group, and restraining their religious, commercial and cultural rights.

Demonstrators chanted slogans calling freedom for East Turkistan and Uighur Turks and read a declaration emphasizing the challenges that Uighur face every day.

The declaration asked China to close concentration camps and respect religious freedom of Uighur.

It also urged European countries to take necessary steps against China and oppose human rights violations.

The protests were organized by the Dutch Uighur Association.
