PYD/PKK terrorist nabbed while attempting to enter Turkey

SANLIURFA, Turkey (AA) - A PYD/PKK terrorist attempting to illegally enter Turkey was arrested near the country’s southeastern border, a security source said on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, security forces arrested the terrorist in the Ceylanpinar district of the Sanliurfa province, the source noted, requesting anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The suspect was taken for a health check and is now under interrogation, the source added.

In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of at least 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants. The PYD is the PKK’s Syrian offshoot.
