Qatar PM, US treasury secretary hold talks in Doha

DOHA (AA) - Qatari Prime Minister Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani on Monday held talks with U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin in Doha.

According to Qatar’s official QNA news agency, the talks focused on a range of regional issues, including bilateral relations and an ongoing crisis in inter-Arab relations.

Mnuchin arrived in Doha on Sunday from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of a regional tour that has also taken him to Saudi Arabia and Israel.

The inter-Arab political crisis was triggered in June when four Arab states -- Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain -- abruptly severed diplomatic and trade ties with Qatar.

The four states accuse Qatar of supporting terrorist groups -- allegations Doha strenuously denies.
