ANKARA (AA) - Spanish La Liga title contenders Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw at home with Osasuna on Sunday as their six-match winning streak ended.

Real Madrid led the match after Vinicius Junior scored the opener in the 42nd minute at Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

But Osasuna leveled the game in the 50th minute after Enrique Garcia Martinez put the ball into Real Madrid’s net with a header.

Real Madrid were awarded a penalty kick after French forward Karim Benzema was shoved in the box. Osasuna's David Garcia was shown a red card for a professional foul.

In the 79th minute, Benzema missed the penalty as his shot from the white spot clipped the crossbar.

The match ended 1-1.

Second-place Real Madrid have 19 points in the league, which is currently led by Barcelona, who have the same amount of points.

But Barcelona are on top of the division on goal average.

Osasuna are in sixth position with 13 points.
