Rental prices in UK rose 4.2% last month

ISTANBUL (AA) - Rental prices in the UK increased by 4.2% in December on a yearly basis, up from 4% in November, official figures showed on Wednesday.

The rate was 4.1% in England, 3.5% in Wales, and 4.4% in Scotland, the Office for National Statistics (Ons) said.

The annual change in London was 4% over the same period.

Meanwhile, house prices in the country rose by 10.3% year-on-year in November.

"The average UK house price was £295,000 in November 2022, which is £28,000 higher than this time last year," the Ons said.
