KYIV, Ukraine (AA) – Russian forces targeted residential buildings in several regions and an airport in overnight attacks, Ukrainian authorities said on Friday.

According to local officials, multiple buildings were destroyed and fires broke out in other areas following Russian airstrikes on the city of Dnipro.

In Baryshivka, the Russian military wrecked an apartment complex with short-range ballistic Iskander missiles, officials claimed.

They said four apartments and 10 houses were also damaged in the attack.

Russian forces targeted a stadium and a library in Chernihiv city, local officials said, adding that the bombardment also damaged the city’s main water supply line.

The Ivano-Frankivsk International Airport in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk was also hit by Russian forces, Ukrainian officials said.

At least 564 civilians have been killed and over 950 others injured in Ukraine since Russia launched the war on Feb. 24, the UN has said, while also cautioning that conditions on the ground make it difficult to verify the true number.

Over 2.5 million people have fled to neighboring countries, with about 2 million more estimated to be displaced inside Ukraine, according to the UN refugee agency.
