HAKKARI, Turkey (AA) – Three Turkish soldiers were wounded in a roadside PKK bomb attack in Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province on Wednesday, a security source said.
According to the security source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the restrictions on talking to the media, PKK terrorists detonated the bomb near Sapatan vilage in Semdinli district when a military vehicle passed by.
The wounded soldiers were immediately taken to Semdinli State Hospital, the source said.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, around 500 security personnel, including troops, police officers and village guards have been martyred and over 5,000 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
