DIYARBAKIR, Turkey (AA) - Seven Turkish soldiers were wounded in a roadside PKK bomb attack in Turkey's southeastern Diyarbakir province Friday, a security source said.

According to the security source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the restrictions on talking to media, PKK terrorists detonated the bomb on Diyarbakir-Silvan road when a military vehicle passed by.

One of the soldiers was seriously injured, the source added.

Ambulances were dispatched to the area following the explosion.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S., and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, around 500 security personnel, including troops, police officers, and village guards, have been martyred, and over 4,900 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
