Round 9 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague gets underway

2 Turkish sides meet in Istanbul, with Anadolu Efes beating Darussafaka Tekfen 93-88

ISTANBUL - The ninth round of the 2018-19 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regular season began on Thursday.

In the first match, with two Turkish sides clashing in Istanbul, Anadolu Efes beat Darussafaka Tekfen 93-88.

Also on Thursday last year’s EuroLeague finalist Fenerbahce will play Israel's Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv in an away match in Tel Aviv.

EuroLeague competitions bring Europe's top basketball clubs together.

Sixteen teams are competing this season -- four Spanish, three Turkish, two Russian, and two Greek teams, and one team each from Germany, Italy, Israel, Lithuania, and Montenegro.

Turkey is represented in the tournament with Anadolu Efes, Fenerbahce, and Darussafaka.
