MOSCOW (AA) - Russian Emergency Ministry announced on Wednesday it is sending five planes with humanitarian aid to Lebanon after Tuesday's massive explosion in the Port of Beirut.
The planes will deliver a mobile hospital, rescue and medical specialists, equipment and a supply of medications, the ministry said in a statement.
All specialists will be equipped with special suits and protective equipment, considering the coronavirus pandemic, it said.
Lebanon is in mourning after the explosion, which has killed 100 and injured more than 4,000 people.
The Supreme Defense Council in Lebanon declared Beirut a disaster-stricken city, as part of decisions and recommendations to face the repercussions of the explosion.
The explosion deepens woes of the country that has been suffering for months from a severe economic crisis and intense political polarization.
Countries all over the world are extending their condolences and offering help to Lebanon following the explosion.
