Saudi crown prince in Qatar for 1st visit since reconciliation

Visit part of Gulf tour ahead of GCC summit

DOHA, Qatar (AA) – Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Doha on Wednesday for his first visit to Qatar since the two countries healed their rift earlier this year.

He was welcomed by Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani upon his arrival at Doha International Airport, Qatari state news agency QNA reported.

The visit is the first by the Saudi crown prince to Doha since the two countries signed a reconciliation deal that put an end to more than three years of political rift between the two Gulf neighbors.

Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Qatar is part of a Gulf tour that already took him to Oman and the United Arab Emirates to prepare for the upcoming Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit on Dec. 14. He is also expected to visit Bahrain and Kuwait.
