Security, counterterrorism expo kicks off in UK

LONDON (AA) - One of Europe’s largest security and counterterrorism events has opened its doors on Tuesday to industry specialists as well as the public in London.

The Security and Counter Terrorism Expo (SCTX 2019) is hosting representatives of field specialist companies from across the globe with their latest technology and new systems at Olympia Centre.

Mainly from the U.S. and various European countries including the U.K. and Germany, participants will present their latest products in critical national infrastructure, cyber security, policing and counter terrorism, event and border security, offender management and various other security services.

Advanced drone detection systems and anti-explosive robotics are among the products to be presented during the expo.

The event aims to improve communication between governments and local communities, to facilitate a more integrated approach in bringing together different stakeholders in the security sector, according to an online advert.

"For its 11th edition, the event will bring together 10,000+ senior security professionals from the government, private sector, critical infrastructure, military, law enforcement, transport security, border security, security services, major events and emergency services to discuss and debate the latest challenges in national security," it said.

The SCTX 2019 will come to a close on Wednesday.
