Singaporeans to get free reusable masks

Initiative launched by government-owned holding company to stem virus spread

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AA) - A foundation under a Singapore’s government-owned holding company will provide a free pair of antimicrobial face masks to all residents from Nov. 30, local media reported on Friday.

Temasek Holdings CEO Ho Ching said in a Facebook post on Thursday that the new reusable masks are black and come in four sizes and each individual should find out the mask size before collecting or pre-ordering masks, according to Channel News Asia.

Collection and pre-orders begin on Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. local time [0200GMT] and the initiative will end on Dec. 13, according to the daily. It said the foundation will release more details next week.

So far, the number of novel coronavirus cases in Singapore has reached 58,139, with four additional infections on Thursday. While 58,052 patients have been recovered so far, 28 are still in hospitals and 31 are in isolation. A total of 28 patients have died from the virus.
