Sivasspor vs. Fenerbahce to highlight Turkish league

Only five points separate leaders Sivasspor and 5th-place Fenerbahce prior to week 15's top match

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's top tier football league, Super Lig, will continue with its 15th match day, as Sivasspor vs. Fenerbahce is the weekend's highly anticipated matchup.

Leaders Sivasspor, who are now on six-game winning streak, will take on 5th-placed Fenerbahce at home on Sunday afternoon.

Sivasspor currently top the league with 30 points, while only 5 points separate them with 5th spot Fenerbahce, who won their last match 5-2 against Genclerbirligi.

The league's match day 15 will start on Friday evening, when Aytemiz Alanyaspor will face Antalyaspor in a Mediterranean derby.

The opening match of the fifteen week will kick off at Alanya’s home ground at 1730GMT.

Alanyaspor currently rank seventh with 22 points, while Antalyaspor are in the relegation zone at 16th place with 12 points.

Besiktas, another team with a six-match winning streak, will take floor against Yeni Malatyaspor at home on Sunday evening.

Besiktas have 27 points, lastly beat Kasimpasa 3-2 in a thrilling match on Sunday, finding the winning goal at last breath.

The match at Vodafone Park will kick off at 7 p.m. local time (1600GMT).

Trabzonspor, another title-eyeing team in the league, will look to bag three points against Denizlispor, one of league's newly-promoted underdog teams who found themselves at 10th spot.

Trabzonspor is at third spot with 26 points, same points total with Basaksehir, continue their title chase at 4th spot.

Fresh off their Europa League victory, Basaksehir will host Konyaspor on Monday evening.

The Istanbul club made history on Thursday night, defeating Bundesliga leaders Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany with 2-1 score to lead group and advance to Round of 32 in UEFA Europa League.

Currently at the 7th spot, reigning Turkish league champions Galatasaray will look to bounce back against MKE Ankaragucu on Saturday, after being defeated by Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday with a 5-0 scoreline.
