Soldier martyred in clash with PKK in Turkey's east
One other soldier has also been wounded in the same clash in eastern Van province

VAN, Turkey (AA) - A Turkish soldier has been killed and another wounded in a clash with PKK terrorists in eastern Van province, security sources said Thursday.
According to the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, the incident took place in the province's Yalinca area.
Operations are continuing in the area, the sources added.
PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, more than 450 Turkish security personnel have been martyred and over 4,500 PKK terrorists killed.
