South Korea fires multiple missiles in response to North

ANKARA (AA) - South Korea on Thursday conducted a joint live-fire exercise in a show of power against North Korea.

Citing the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Yonhap News said the South Korean military shot major missiles from ground, sea and air in the East Sea just hours after the North launched an intercontinental ballistic missile into the sea.

"It has been confirmed that in case of North Korea's missile launch, (we) have the ability and posture to precisely strike the origin of the missile launch and command and support facilities at any time," the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

On Thursday morning, Pyongyang fired an “unidentified projectile” toward the East Sea which Japan said was a "new type of intercontinental ballistic missile.
