By Mohammed Amin

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AA) - Sudan's transitional government would hand over any officials from the former regime of the President Omer Al-Bashir, who were indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), a member of Sovereign Council said on Tuesday.

Addressing the reporters in South Sudan's Juba, Mohamed Hassan Altaaishi stressed that the hand over of the Darfur criminals who were indicted by the ICC is very essential for the transitional justice and the peace at large.

“We agreed in the Darfur track of the peace talks that anyone indicted by the ICC should appear in front of the court,” he emphasized.

Peace talks between a government delegation and rebels continue under the auspices of the government of South Sudan.

Sudan's ousted President Al-Bashir and other government officials, including the former Minister Abdul Rahim Mohamed Hussein, Governor of South Kordofan state Ahmed Haroun and militia leader Ali Koushib were indicted by the ICC.
