Team USA beat Czech Republic 119 - 84 in men's basketball at Olympics

US takes 2nd place in preliminary round Group A

ANKARA (AA) - Team USA beat Czech Republic 119 - 84 in men's basketball preliminary round Group A match at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on Saturday.

Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant led the US to victory with 27 and 23 points respectively at the Saitama Super Arena.

Blake Schilb's 17 points were not enough for Czech Republic's victory.

France lead preliminary round Group A with six points, while the US are second with five points and Czech Republic third with four points.

Quarterfinal matches in men's basketball will be held on Aug. 3.

Team USA have a remarkable medal history – won medals in 18 Olympic tournaments they entered, including 15 golds.
