ANKARA (AA) - A 15-year-old tennis player from the U.S., Coco Gauff knocked Naomi Osaka, the 2019 Australian Open champion, out from the 2020 tournament on Friday.
Gauff beat Osaka, 22, in the women's singles third round with the sets of 6-3, 6-4 to be in the fourth round.
Ranking fourth in the world standings, Osaka had to return home.
World number 67, Gauff is now waiting for her opponent in the next phase.

The American tennis veteran Serena Williams, 38, upset her fans after she was eliminated by Chinese player Qiang Wang with the sets of 6-4, 6-7, 7-5 in the third round.
Williams, who comes eighth in rankings, is one of the well-respected tennis players as she won 23 grand slam titles, including seven Australian Open championships since 1998.
Following Friday's loss, Williams failed to equal 77-year-old Margaret Court, an Australian female tennis legend who claimed 24 grand slam titles. Court has the most grand slam titles in women's.
Williams last won the Australian Open in 2017.
- World no. 1 Barty qualifies for 4th round
The top seed in women's, Ashleigh Barty from Australia eliminated her Kazakh opponent Elena Rybakina with the sets of 6-3, 6-2 to bag the ticket for the fourth round in the Australian Open.
The 2019 French Open winner, Barty, 23, made her Australian Open debut in 2012.
Separately Serbian star Novak Djokovic thrashed Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan with the sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 to qualify for the upcoming round.
Djokovic, who came second in men's rankings, is one of the intimidating players in tennis with 16 grand slam titles.
During his career, Djokovic bagged Australian Open titles in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2019.
