Tennis: Mertens, Sabalenka win AO women's doubles title

ISTANBUL (AA) - Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka clinched the Australian Open women's doubles title on Friday.

Belgium's Mertens and Belarus' Sabalenka defeated Czech pair Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova with the sets of 6-2 and 6-3 after an hour and 19 minute-long match at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena.

With this victory, the pair, number two in the rankings, won another Grand Slam title to go alongside their 2019 US Open trophy.
