Top Turkish diplomat attends SE Europe group meeting
Member states of South East European Cooperation Process discuss regional cooperation, opportunities

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s foreign minister on Thursday took part in a meeting of a group of southeastern European countries, including the Balkans.
Mevlut Cavusoglu met his counterparts from South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) member states via video conference.
Cavusoglu said on Twitter that they discussed regional cooperation and opportunities within SEECP during the coronavirus normalization process.
“Turkey is taking over 2020-21 Chairmanship of SEECP, the broadest regional organization in the Balkans. @TurkishCiOSEECP,” he added.
Next week, on July 1, Turkey is set to take over the SEECP chairmanship for one year.
In addition to political relations, Turkey has deep historical, cultural, and economic ties with countries of the Balkans region.
