ISTANBUL (AA) – A Turkish pavilion will be set up for the first time at the Transport Logistics Fair in Munich, Germany, the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK) announced Thursday.

“This is an important step in the name of DEIK which attaches great importance to foreign economic relations in order to bring our logistics sector to the world,” said Turgut Erkeskin, chairman of the DEIK Logistic Business Council.

“As DEIK, we see that the Turkish logistics sector has become a global player while working with all our strength to carry our country’s flag to every point of the world in every field of foreign trade,” Erkeskin said.

“Our Turkish companies, together with their international operations, are carrying out very important achievements in air, land, sea, port management and technology services in these areas.”

Erkeskin stressed that the fair is important for Turkey’s logistics sector.

“Our biggest aim is that other companies in the field of logistics follow our national pride Turkish Airlines’ global success.

“In this respect, megaprojects such as the Belt and Road Initiative, which is under the leadership of China, also offer new opportunities for Turkish companies,” he said.

Ten Turkish firms from different branches including information technology and transportation will attend the biennially held fair organized by the DEIK Logistic Business Council.

More than 2,000 participants and 60,000 visitors are expected at the fair, which runs from June 4-7.
