TRT World Forum aims to be the 'Davos of Turkey'

ANKARA (AA) - An international forum organized by Turkey’s first English-language news channel aims to become the “Davos of Turkey”, the network’s news director has told Anadolu Agency.

Fatih Er, news director for TRT World, said Turkey should develop “international arguments” in domestic issues to forge public opinion overseas.

“This is among the ultimate goals of the forum. We believe that we can explain this to academics, journalists, researchers, and politicians,” Er said.

The recently-concluded TRT World Forum brought together leading experts from around the world for two days in Istanbul, where debates of global importance, such as the rise of xenophobia and Islamophobia were analyzed in depth.

The forum was held last week on Wednesday and Thursday under the theme “Inspiring Change in an Age of Uncertainty”.

Anadolu Agency was the global communication partner at the event.

Emphasizing the goal of “internationality”, Er said next year’s forum would be a larger platform for discussion and analysis.
