Truce hammered out in Syria’s Daraa: Jordanian official
No official statement has been issued on reported truce, details of which remain extremely vague

AMMAN (AA) - A truce has been hammered out between the warring parties in Syria’s southern Daraa province as a first step towards reconciliation, an official Jordanian source told Anadolu Agency on Friday.
The source, who spoke anonymously due to restrictions on speaking to media, did not provide any details regarding the reported truce, such as where it was struck or who its main signatories were.
Meanwhile, no official statement has been issued about the reported ceasefire agreement.
For the last several days, Daraa has been subject to intense air and ground attacks by the Assad regime and its allies, who have advanced deep into Darra’s eastern countryside, capturing the towns of Busra al-Harir and Nahtah.
Following peace talks held last year in Kazakh capital Astana, Daraa was designated a “de-escalation zone” in which acts of aggression are expressly prohibited.
