Turkey: 3 arrested for alleged FETO terror links

3 former security personnel reportedly arrested in southeastern Adana province

By Yusuf Koyun

ADANA (AA) - Turkish security forces arrested three suspects on Saturday for alleged links to the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the terror group behind the defeated 2016 coup, judicial sources said.

In an operation in the southeastern Adana province, three former security personnel were arrested for alleged links to FETO, said the sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

A search operation to arrest the remaining two suspects remains underway.

FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup on July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

Ankara also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
