KAYSERI/ADANA, Turkey (AA) - Three more people with suspected links to the Daesh/ISIS terror group were arrested across Turkey, according to local authorities on Tuesday.
Two alleged members of the terrorist organization -- both Syrian nationals -- were arrested by the provincial gendarmerie units in Melikgazi district of Turkey's central Kayseri province, said a statement by provincial governor's office.
Separately, one more terror suspect plotting an attack was arrested by anti-terror police teams in Turkey’s southern Adana province.
On Monday morning, security forces conducted seven raids in Adana and detained four Daesh/ISIS suspects plotting terror attack in Turkey. Hunt for two more fugitive terror suspects is underway.
In 2013, Turkey became one of the first countries to declare Daesh/ISIS a terror group.
The country has since been attacked by Daesh/ISIS terrorists multiple times, with 315 people killed and hundreds more injured in at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks, and four armed assaults.
In response, Turkey launched anti-terror operations at home and abroad to prevent further attacks.
