HAKKARI, Turkey (AA) – Turkish security forces on Friday arrested three terror suspects and recovered explosives in an ongoing counter-terrorism operation against PKK/KCK in southeastern Hakkari province, according to a statement issued by the Hakkari Governorship.
The statement said that Gendarmerie – a paramilitary organization – had started operation against the terror group PKK/KCK.
‘’During the operations three suspects were arrested for aiding and abetting terrorist organization in Yuksekova district’s Cobanpinar area. Explosive materials concealed in five caves were seized,” the statement said.
The statement further said that the security forces also seized three gas cylinders, 24 big battery blocks and 10-meter cable for preparing explosives.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
